There’s been a lot of talk about Workday, our new people management information system. Having launched last month, we hope you’re becoming familiar with it. Stacy Williams, HR system lead, tells us more about the system that’s changed our working day...

We needed to update our systems as they were no longer fit for purpose. Our previous HR system was very UK-specific so our people around the world all experienced it differently. We needed a system that was global, lean, scalable and futureproof.

Workday allows us to hold all our employee personal information and data in one place. It’s a simple, intuitive, easy-to-use system that will streamline our processes for joiners, movers and leavers. It will also enhance our people reporting capabilities by using real-time data to help us make business decisions.

The project has allowed me to work across so many areas of the business and I’ve really loved it. Working across HR, IT&T, TOC, internal communications and the senior leaders on the project management group brought diverse views in implementing a system that would touch every person at ACCA. We also had over 60 volunteers globally who supported the user acceptance testing which was a key highlight for me!

With the system live and being used across ACCA, the main focus is making sure the processes are working for everyone. We are considering feedback and – where possible – making adjustments so that our people adopt Workday and we gain its full benefits.

We’re only at phase one of the implementation, just the foundations of Workday. There is so much more to come. We’re now looking at the requirements and design for phase two.
